Let's start with Deal's Gone Bad. First time I ever heard them in 2006 (right after this LP came out), they played in a tiny venue in Evansville, IN. I thought they were really cool. So much soul! They played with Mustard Plug and a few other pretty well-known ska bands. They stood out to me though, more people should listen to them. Check this shit out.

I honestly first heard The Slackers on the Give 'Em The Boot compilations. Again, a lot of soul elements, which is common with traditional ska. I've included their first album (1996) along with some of their more recent stuff. It's all very good. One of my favorite bands to ever come out of Hellcat Records.
